For the past three years, I have been trying to get pictures of the 2 Hawks that live on the course. They have frustrated me to no end, flying around when I don't have a camera and staying away when I did. But today, they agreed to pose for me.
Actually, there are two types of shots here. The first are of one hawk on the fairway. I woefully underexposed these shots. I got too excited, cranked the shutter up to 1/1000 of a second, and never increased the ISO, and ignored the warnings. That I have any usable images is a testimony ot Nikon's Capture software.
Later on. I went back and found the pair in a tree. I probably shot 40 photo's...they never moved. Maybe in more rural areas you can do this...but I live just 15 miles outside of New York City.
According to someone who runs a website that features Hawks in NYC, these are fledgings. If I get the info correct from numerous websites, they would have been born this past May 2007. If you can add anything, please leave a comment.

I am taking suggestions for names...
Archie and Edith?
Homer and Marge?
I was thinking Annika and Tiger...since they are on a golf course.
Steve Sterman has other ideas, see below:) Although their physiques look more like Big Papi.
